Back2Bikes mission is to improve the environment by teaching volunteers the mechanical and problem solving skills necessary to give a bike a second life. You learn the skills on donated bikes . This allows you more time to learn than if you were practicing on a bike you need to ride yourself. Volunteers can attend whenever they have free time on our opening days. However if you have no previous skills when first starting we recommend one full day a week in order to learn the necessary skills.
Our refurbished bikes are either sold at a reasonable price or donated to clients of local charities. We also service the bicycle fleets of local special schools.
Surplus funds are donated to local charities and sustainable transport initiatives.
